Privacy policy

This website is deliberately built to collect as little as possible: no cookies, no analytics or tracking services, no ad networks, no social media plugins. Fonts are served from our own server rather than by a third party. That is also why you see no cookie banner here.

2. Server log files

When you open this website, your browser transmits technically necessary data which our web server records:

Purpose and legal basis: operation, security and error analysis of the website. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in stable and secure operation). This data is not merged with other sources and is not analysed for marketing purposes.

Hosting: the website runs on a server operated by Hostgate. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with that provider.

3. Contact form and email

If you use the contact form, we process the details you enter:

Purpose and legal basis: handling your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where the enquiry relates to a contract, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries).

Recipients and transfers outside the EU: form submissions are processed through a Google service (Google Apps Script and Google Sheets, Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). This may involve a transfer to the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the transfer is based on the European Commission's adequacy decision of 10 July 2023, supplemented by standard contractual clauses under Art. 46 GDPR. If you would rather avoid this, email us directly athello@handwerk-code.de instead.

Retention: we keep your enquiry until it has been dealt with and no follow-up questions are expected. Statutory retention periods, in particular under commercial and tax law, remain unaffected.

4. Local storage in your browser

After you submit the contact form we store a timestamp in your browser's local storage under the key hc_contact_last. It exists solely to prevent accidental duplicate submissions and automated spam. No personal content is stored and no data is transmitted to us or to third parties. Because this storage is strictly necessary for the function you explicitly requested, it does not require consent under § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG. You can delete the entry at any time via your browser settings.

5. Fonts

The typefaces used (Inter, Space Grotesk, JetBrains Mono) are stored on and served from our own server. No connection is made to third-party servers, in particular not to Google Fonts, and no IP address is transmitted to any third party.

6. Encryption

This website uses TLS encryption, which you can see in your browser's address bar. While encryption is active, what you enter cannot be read by third parties.

7. Your rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data at any time:

An informal message to hello@handwerk-code.de is enough.

Right to complain: you may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example in Romania with the Autoritatea Naţională de Supraveghere a Prelucrării Datelor cu Caracter Personal (ANSPDCP), or with the authority where you normally reside.

8. No automated decision-making

We do not use automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

9. Changes to this policy

We update this privacy policy whenever the processing on this website changes, for example through new features or services. The version published here is the one that applies.
